HR Operations Administrator
Our client, a progressive public sector organisation, are looking for an HR Operations Administrator to join their operations team for a 10-month fixed term contract.
The Role
This is a hands-on administrative role supporting both the HR and Learning & Development functions. You'll be the operational backbone that keeps things moving - managing recruitment inboxes, coordinating interviews, handling onboarding documentation, and supporting various HR and L&D processes from end to end. It's 70% HR-focused, 30% L&D, and you'll get genuine exposure to every process these teams run.
About the Company & Operations Team
This is a modern, forward-thinking public sector organisation that takes process improvement seriously. The operations team was specifically established to provide dedicated admin support to both HR and L&D, freeing up those teams to focus on strategic work while continuously improving processes using lean methodologies. You'll report to the HR Operations Lead alongside two coordinators, and you'll be working in a team that values efficiency, attention to detail, and getting things right.
What You'll Be Doing
* Managing HR, L&D and recruitment inboxes - responding to internal queries and external contacts
* Coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities including setting up interviews and supporting in-person interview days
* Supporting new starter onboarding including documentation and system administration
* Following up on outstanding training qualifications and processing training requests
* Drafting contracts and maintaining HR information systems
* Working across multiple systems and jumping between priorities as things come in
* Attending the office for in-person interview support and other operational needs
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 1 year's experience in administration (ideally with HR or L&D exposure, but strong administrators from other backgrounds will be considered)
* Excellent attention to detail - this is non-negotiable
* Ability to handle volume, reprioritize on the go, and manage high volume tasks
* Experience with HR information systems or database systems is a strong advantage
* Confident communicator
* Someone who stays calm under pressure
* Initiative and the ability to follow detailed guides and spot errors
Desirable:
Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies (but not essential)
Note:
You don't need a degree or public sector experience for this role - we're looking for someone who's brilliant at the fundamentals.
What's On Offer
* Salary: €30,000 - €35,000 (depending on experience)
* Fixed term contract: 10 months
* Hybrid working: 2 days per week on-site (with some flexibility on which days based on operational needs)
* Start date: Flexible - Mid to late February
How They Work
This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week on-site. The days may vary depending on what the HR and L&D teams need - if you work 3 days one week, you might do just 1 day the next. It's a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You'll need to be comfortable with that level of variety.
