Job Overview:
The Credit Controller plays a key role in managing the company's cash flow by ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts from customers. This position is responsible for monitoring credit granted to customers, assessing credit risk, negotiating payment terms, and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills with a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
* Contact customers via phone, email, and letters to follow up on overdue accounts
* Evaluate new credit requests and review existing customers' credit ratings
* Set up terms and conditions of credit
* Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity and prepare regular reports on debt status
* Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve disputes and maintain customer relationships
* Allocate payments received and reconcile customer accounts
* Reduce aged debt and minimize bad debt exposure
* Support month-end closing by providing information and analysis on receivables
* Escalate problematic accounts to legal or debt collection agencies as required
