We're hiring a Software Engineer to work on The Hire Lab ATS, a mature, production SaaS platform used across public and enterprise organisations in Ireland and the UK.
This role focuses on building and evolving a .NET-based platform, while leveraging AI tools to accelerate and improve software development. The emphasis is on engineering quality, reliability, and scalability, with AI used as a productivity and quality enabler rather than experimental research.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop and maintain backend services in a .NET / C# environment
* Design and consume REST APIs supporting core ATS functionality
* Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding copilots, test generation, refactoring support) as part of daily engineering work
* Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems
* Collaborate with product, QA, and support teams on real-world requirements
* Participate in code reviews and technical design decisions
* Contribute to secure, compliant software used in regulated environments
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Commercial experience as a Software Engineer
* Strong experience with .NET / C#
* Experience building and consuming APIs
* Experience using AI tools to support software development (e.g. AI-assisted coding, testing, debugging)
* Solid understanding of software engineering best practices
* Strong attention to detail and code quality
Desirable:
* Experience with SQL Server or relational databases
* Cloud hosting experience (AWS or Azure)
* Experience working on SaaS or enterprise platforms
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
* Interest in applying AI responsibly in regulated environments
