Practice Manager - Senior Accountant

Clear Group is a modern, technology-driven accounting practice in North Dublin serving SMEs across multiple sectors. We are entering a new phase of growth and are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead our accounting team, oversee client delivery, and strengthen our technical offering across tax and accounts.
This role is ideal for a Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA / CPA) with strong practice experience who enjoys leadership, technical review, and improving systems. CTA qualification (or part-qualified CTA) is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership & Team Management
· Lead, coach, and support the accounting team
· Review and sign off of work prepared by the team and ensure accuracy and quality, delivered within deadlines.
· Manage workflow, capacity planning, and job scheduling
· Ensure procedures, templates, and practice management system work items are up to date
· Be the point of technical escalation for accounting, corporation tax, income tax, VAT
· Provide structured feedback, support CPD, and develop team capability
Client Delivery & Technical Oversight
· Oversee a small portfolio of clients (minimal production work)
· Review and sign off of annual accounts under FRS 105 / FRS 102
· Review corporation tax returns, income tax returns, VAT returns, CGT
· Handle complex queries and guide the team on technical issues
· Support payroll operationally on projects and statutory queries
· Deliver strong client communication and maintain excellent relationships
Practice Management & Systems
· Drive continuous improvement across processes and margins
· Ensure high standards across workflow, commentary, and documentation
· Maintain and improve pm workflow templates and service KPIs
· Support onboarding from a technical and operational perspective
· Support the director by acting as a buffer for team/client queries
Commercial & Advisory
· Identify opportunities for additional advisory work, tax planning, and project work
· Support proposal/pricing improvements
· Help maintain profitability across service lines
Experience & Skills Required
· 5+ years practice experience in Ireland
· 5+ years post Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA / CPA)
· CTA qualification or strong tax capability preferred
· Experience reviewing accounts, CT, IT, VAT, CGT
· Confident managing people, workflow, and deadlines
· Excellent communication and judgment
· Strong knowledge of Cloud Accounting - Xero, Karbon, GoProposal, Hubdoc / AutoEntry, Sage Final Accounts
· Practising certificate desirable. If not already held, the successful candidate will be supported to obtain one within 12 months (or as soon as practicable), with the company covering associated costs.
