While day‑to‑day technical delivery is supported by external service providers, you will retain full ownership of operational performance, service quality and security governance.This role offers a high degree of autonomy and visibility, with real influence over how IT is delivered across the organisation.Your key responsibilities will include:ResponsibilitiesIT Operations & Service ManagementOwn the day‑to‑day operational health of IT services across the organisationEnsure availability, performance and resilience of critical IT systemsOversee and mature incident, problem and change management processesMaintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks and procedures to support consistent service deliveryMicrosoft Platform OwnershipAct as the internal technical authority for the Microsoft environment, including:Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft Defender Suite and M365Ensure secure configuration, standardisation and lifecycle management across platformsTrack and interpret the Microsoft roadmap, ensuring best‑practice adoption aligned with business needsSecurity & Risk ManagementTake operational ownership of IT security controls within the Microsoft ecosystemEnsure effective security across endpoint protection, identity security and cloud application governanceWork closely with the MSP and security partners to manage threats, incidents and remediationEnsure security exceptions are risk‑assessed, approved, documented and reviewedVendor & Third‑Party ManagementManage key external partners including MSPs, MSSPs, SaaS and technology vendorsHold suppliers accountable for SLAs, KPIs and service qualityCoordinate multi‑vendor operating models to avoid gaps or duplicationEnsure partners provide clear, consistent reporting and maintain up‑to‑date documentation retained internallyGovernance, Compliance & AuditSupport IT governance and compliance initiatives, including ISO 27001Contribute to IT and security policy development and enforcementMaintain audit‑ready operational evidence across asset management, access controls, monitoring and incident recordsSupport risk assessments and the development of risk treatment plansThis role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working in a structured, operationally focused environment, with ownership and accountability rather than day‑to‑day firefightingWhat You Need to SucceedYou’ll bring a strong operational mindset, paired with hands‑on technical capability and the confidence to manage vendors and stakeholders effectively.You will have:Proven experience in IT Operations / Service Management rolesStrong hands‑on experience with:Microsoft 365 administrationEntra ID / Active DirectoryIntune and endpoint managementMicrosoft Defender SuiteExperience working with outsourced IT delivery models (MSP/MSSP)Exposure to ISO 27001 or similar governance and compliance frameworksA structured, calm approach to incident and problem managementThe ability to balance security, usability and business prioritiesConfidence to challenge vendors and make informed decisionsStrong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholdersA Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline ( 5 + years)Microsoft certifications (or equivalent practical experience)BenefitsWork with a market leader in the Data centre Construction industryBe part of a forward‑thinking team delivering critical infrastructure in a high‑growth sectorLong‑term career progression opportunities and professional development support.Competitive salary packages
