Fitter / WelderWe are looking for a reliable and capable Fitter/Welder to join our team. The role involves a mix of fitting, welding, blade maintenance, and general mechanical work on plant and equipment. You must be confident working on your own initiative and able to keep machines running safely and efficiently.Main ResponsibilitiesCarry out welding and fabrication work as required (repairs, brackets, guards, housings, etc.).Fit, repair, and maintain a range of equipment, including mobile plant, diesel machinery, attachments, and yard equipment.Carry out blade and knife maintenance, including:Bolt torquing to correct specificationsKnife and blade setting using feeler gaugesBlade changes, inspections, and clearance checksDiagnose faults, strip down components, and carry out repairs safely.Weld to a high-penetration standard across common processes(MIG essential; stick and basic TIG an advantage; experience with heavy water-cooled welders preferred).Carry out preventative maintenance and general mechanical work.Assist with daily operations around the yard and step in where needed.Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.Work with management to plan repairs, downtime, and parts needed.RequirementsExperience in fitting/welding or heavy plant maintenance.Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG required).Ability to work independently and get jobs finished without constant supervision.Good problem-solving ability and practical approach.Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team.Safety-focused and able to follow procedures.Competent with blade maintenance, torque settings, and the use of feeler gauges.Optional but BeneficialExperience with heavy equipment or diesel engines.Ability to operate or assist with forklifts, telehandlers, or material handlers.Basic record-keeping and ability to track repairs completed.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, ApprenticeshipPay: From €45,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeOn-site parkingRelocation assistanceWork Location: In person
