We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Quality and Environmental systems, ensuring compliance with relevant ISO standards and legislative requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental sustainability principles and practices, as well as experience in managing integrated management systems (IMS). They will work closely with the Safety Manager and other departments to ensure that all processes are working effectively and recording accurately.
The role will involve managing the maintenance of current and future ISO standards, broadening our systems to achieve 55001 Asset Management and separate Carbon Ladder Certification, and working with the wider Management team to incorporate Quality, Environmental and Energy Management requirements into decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:

* Manage and maintain the IMS
* Work closely with the Safety Manager and other departments to ensure process effectiveness and accuracy
* Manage the maintenance of current and future ISO standards
* Broaden our systems to achieve 55001 Asset Management and separate Carbon Ladder Certification
* Work with the Management team to incorporate Quality, Environmental and Energy Management requirements into decision-making processes
* Prepare and submit monthly reports to clients
* Control data-gathering processes to facilitate report preparation
* Prepare and submit yearly reports
* Control the preparation and storage of data, correspondence, and documentation
* Initiate safety, quality, and design documentation preparation for activities and submission to clients under certification
* Carry out reviews of plans, procedures, RAMs etc when required
* Ensure management reviews are carried out at regular intervals and objectives, targets, and risks are measured and updated each year
* Develop measuring tools for project performance with the Operations Manager
* Prepare quality submissions for clients in advance of construction or renewal projects
* Develop testing protocols with subcontractors
* Control, monitor, testing, and inspection of works
* Manage testing and inspection data production for client supply and as-built documentation
* Ensure operations are carried out in line with own and legislative environmental requirements
* Maintain and adapt energy and carbon use recording processes
* Produce year-end Energy Management Report
* Manage waste record maintenance
* Set up sub-waste management plans for larger projects
* Work with the Sustainability Champion to develop and instigate various projects to further carbon and biodiversity goals

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

* A level eight qualification recognised by HETEC in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
* Membership of recognised industry body (Engineers Ireland, Institute of Asphalt Technology, Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation etc)
* Experience in road network maintenance contracts or projects with similar services and activities
* Manager's experience in Quality Systems
* Experience in Data Management and Controls
* Experience of Environmental Controls and systems
* Demonstrable knowledge of TII road standards and specifications
* High level of computer literacy (MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint)
* Industry recognised safety-training standard for level of post (PSCS and PSDP Knowledge/Training)
