Objective: The objective of the post is to assist in the preparation and delivery of the Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Medicine teaching programme. Demonstrators will have ideally completed a higher degree and have previous teaching experiences. Specifically, the duties of the post will include Delivery of Macroscopic Anatomy teaching within cadaveric anatomy sessions in the Anatomy Room within the teaching brief of the Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Medicine. This includes demonstrating to various student classes, such as Direct Entry Medicine, Graduate Entry Medicine, Foundation Year in Medicine, Physiotherapy and related courses, Physician Associates, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Inclusion of Radiological Anatomy within the cadaveric anatomy teaching sessions. Contribute to and provide leadership and support in cadaveric anatomy sessions and related activities, within workshops delivered by the Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Medicine in the context of extracurricular events, such as for example in delivery of short focussed anatomy courses for industry. Anatomy content development to enhance vertical and horizontal integration, in line with the ongoing medicine curriculum review and its further development. Contribute to exams and exam related activities in the Anatomy Room. Contribute to marking of written examinations. Delivery of occasional anatomy lectures to students and/or extracurricular workshops. Show a commitment to the further development of teaching format options in cadaveric anatomy teaching sessions. Show a commitment to support the development and delivery of research projects in the field of Clinical Anatomy. Complying with statutory legislation and Department rules and requirements in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety. Undergo programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time. Representing the best interests of the Department/RCSI at all times. Performing such other duties as may be required. Person Specification Candidates should hold a degree in a biomedical specialty and should have funded knowledge of Human Anatomy Teaching experience in the area of cadaveric anatomy Experience in anatomical dissection on human cadaveric donors Familiarity with the legal framework that regulates Anatomical Examination in Ireland Interest in education and research in Clinical Anatomy Teaching experience and knowledge of current issues in medical education An interest to conduct research in the field of Clinical Anatomy, that may evolve in pursuing a higher degree by research in this field Ideally research experience, ideally evidenced by authorship/co-authorship in peer-reviewed publications in journals and/or grant support, ideally in the field of Clinical Anatomy We are all too aware that imposter syndrome and the confidence gap can sometimes stop fantastic candidates putting themselves forward, so please do submit an application - we'd love to hear from you.
