Research Scientist Role Overview Hands-on, research-focused role responsible for generating preclinical and clinical evidence to support medical device development.
The position centres on experimental design, data analysis, and scientific publication, with a strong emphasis on translating research into clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities Research & Evidence Generation Design, execute, and analyse preclinical experiments Conduct in-vitro and benchtop testing (e.g., occlusion models) Maintain accurate, compliant experimental records and datasets Interpret results and communicate findings to internal and clinical teams Scientific Communication Lead and support preparation of peer-reviewed publications Contribute to clinical research activities (first-in-human and post-market studies) Present findings internally and at external conferences Support scientific content for training and commercial activities Collaboration Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clinical collaborators Align research activities with clinical and product needs Support conference preparation and coordination Additional Responsibilities Manage research and demonstration devices Support sourcing of materials and test equipment Provide general scientific and operational support to R&D and clinical teams Required Qualifications & Experience MSc or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field Strong experience in experimental design, execution, and data analysis Proven scientific writing skills (peer-reviewed publications preferred) Excellent organisational and documentation skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Desirable Experience In-vitro / benchtop model development (cardiovascular or neurovascular preferred) Knowledge of stroke or neurovascular therapies Experience working with clinicians or clinical research teams Conference presentation experience Familiarity with regulated medical device environments
