We are working with a world-leading technology company based in Cork that is looking to expand its software engineering group by hiring an experienced Security Firmware Engineer.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to develop secure computing environments for next‑generation, high‑performance AI inference accelerators. You will focus on expanding Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) on server platforms, ensuring hardware‑assisted accelerators function as trusted devices in multi‑tenant Data Center environments.
Key Responsibilities
Secure Design: Implement SR-IOV‑based secure execution environments and isolate PCIe virtual functions.
Protocol Integration: Develop software for PCIe security protocols, including SPDM, CMA, MCTP, and IDE.
Trusted Environments: Integrate secure boot and attestation mechanisms within complex security architectures.
Performance Tuning: Optimise memory management within secure enclaves while maintaining strict security guarantees.
Compliance: Contribute to threat modelling and risk assessments in alignment with Confidential Computing Consortium standards.
Technical Requirements
Experience: 3+ years in embedded software or security firmware development (preferably for Compute/Server platforms).
Core Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ and Linux‑based embedded systems.
Security Depth: Strong understanding of cryptographic primitives, ARM TrustZone, and platform‑level security (TPM, Secure Boot).
Standards: Familiarity with TDISP, SPDM, or DICE protocols.
Hardware: Experience with SoC architecture (core, cache, memory, IOs) and debugging tools like JTAG.
Bonus: Hands‑on experience with RISC‑V or contributions to open‑source security projects.
