Working within the Operations Team, you will lead the long-term integrity of all MV and LV electrical systems, ensuring high levels of safety, reliability, technical and legal compliance. The Site Electrical Lead will also provide specialist support, guidance, and technical advice to the Engineering and Maintenance teams on site electrical systems**About the role:*** Oversee long-term planning and through-life management, including obsolescence of site infrastructure and systems* Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, and mechanical issues during breakdowns* Plan and execute electrical inspections activities, both technically and financially, during scheduled outages* Develop longer-term planning views, managing assets through station life and system obsolescence* Ensure correct maintenance plans are in place for electrical and control systems, are carried out, and the periodicity is optimised for maximum reliability* Support Engineering and Maintenance teams in fault-finding, engineering solutions, and root cause analysis of electrical and control issues* Deliver and project manage capital projects on electrical and control systems, such as upgrades and replacements* Contribute to budget planning across the 5-year rolling business plan period for electrical systems, overseeing and managing within-year delivery and phasing of electrical budgets* Manage electrical contracts through identification, budgeting, specification, and execution* Lead on management of electrical works, ensuring high levels of quality management and documentation at all stages* Report to Operations Manager on site and build a team* Write procedures and manage critical switching* Manage all HV / LV Contractors and service engineers* Liaise with clients**Here's what we're looking for:*** SAP (Senior Authorised Person) Certification with experience in issuing safety documents like permits to work and switching programmes* HNC or relevant electrical qualification* Desirable - Degree (BSc/BEng) or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering* ATEX Compex EX 1-4* ATEX Compex EX 11* IOSH Managing Safety (or equivalent)* First aid - responder We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
