Our core expertise is in electromagnetic tracking and navigation technology which provides essential tools for performing the most cutting-edge and lifesaving procedures across a wide range of medical procedures.We are looking for a talented and passionate Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our software team and take responsibility over the development of our firmware from prototype through to fully verified and validated medical software.Firmware Engineer responsibilities include C, Python and C++ development across such areas including;algorithm implementation and optimization,graphical user interfaces,embedded systems,network data interfaces,testing and validation,cloud computing,machine learning and AI,wireless communicationThe overall role of the Firmware Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with applicable standards and technical design.ResponsibilitiesExecute full software development life cycle (SDLC)Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutionsWrite well-designed, testable codeProduce specifications and determine operational feasibilityIntegrate software components into a fully functional software systemDevelop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures compliant with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 60601, IEC 62304)Document and maintain software functionalityTroubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systemsDeploy programs and evaluate user feedbackComply with project plans and industry standardsEnsure software is updated with latest featuresLibrary and API design for customer code integrationRequirementsCandidates for this position should beFluent in the C and Python programming languageComfortable with compiling C++ projects from source codeFamiliar with revision control systems such as GitProactive in implementing new concepts and ideas based on clinical feedbackProven work experience as a Firmware Engineer or Firmware DeveloperProven ability to develop software in Python, C, C++ or other programming languagesAbility to document requirements and specificationsBachelors and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant fieldExperience with ST Electronics and Nordic MCUs is an advantage.Benefits:Work from home opportunitiesFlexible working hoursOn-site parkingJob Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: Negotiable based on experience.Hybrid working negotiable.Quadrant Scientific's main office is located in Bishopstown, Cork City, we also have a satellite office located in Kells, Co.
