From The Door Talent, we are partnering with a global leader in energy and grid integration solutions to recruit an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their Engineering team in Ireland.
This role plays a key part in delivering complex, high-impact power and grid projects supporting the energy transition across sectors such as data centres, e-mobility, renewables and emerging technologies.
The position reports to the Operations Manager and acts as design authority for an engineering discipline with medium to high technical complexity, coordinating engineering activities across multiple projects and stakeholders.
The Role
As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical leadership and delivery of engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, quality, safety and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support during tendering and project execution phases.
Prepare primary electrical design drawings and Bills of Quantities for engineered items.
Act as technical lead across multiple projects.
Overall responsibility for planning, managing and leading all engineering activities.
Instruct, supervise and coordinate internal engineering teams, external partners and sub-suppliers.
Work closely with Sales & Tender teams, Project Management, Site Installation and Commissioning teams.
Prepare technical specifications, review supplier offers and coordinate with Supply Chain for procurement of equipment, materials and services.
Lead and attend technical discussions with customers, respond to site queries and drive resolution.
Promote and live a strong safety-first and integrity-led culture.
Support and mentor junior engineers, apprentices and technical teams.
Background & Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years experience in power systems engineering, ideally within utility or industrial substations.
Strong technical knowledge of engineering processes, tools and CAD systems.
Proven ability to manage complex engineering scopes across multiple projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in multi-cultural environments.
Proactive, resilient, results-driven professional, comfortable working under pressure.
