As a Medical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to perform peripheral IV cannulation, phlebotomy and electrocardiography services to meet the needs of inpatients and outpatients.
Key Responsibilities:
* To collect venous blood samples throughout the hospital for diagnostic testing and research purposes.
* Perform Peripheral Intravenous Cannulation as requested by medical staff in accordance with the hospital's IV cannulation policies.
* Obtain blood specimens as requested by medical staff in accordance with the hospital's Venepuncture and associated policies.
* Be competent to perform an Electro Cardiography tracing for all procedures.
Requirements:
* Candidates must possess professional qualifications and experience in phlebotomy, IV peripheral cannulation and electrocardiology.
* Alternatively, candidates can be registered or eligible for registration in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland.
* Or, candidates can be minimum a 2nd year Medical Student having completed relevant clinical skills of Phlebotomy and Cannulation.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Basic life support skills.
