Salary: €43,892 - €71,552 (LSI1 €72,938)
Job Description:
The role of a Medical Scientist requires a strategic approach to developing services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and technological development. The position involves managing changes necessary to achieve organisational objectives.
Responsibilities:
* To perform duties under the general direction of the Chief Medical Scientist and Senior Medical Scientist.
* To supervise and support medical scientists and medical laboratory assistants.
* To organise the technical programme for efficient work patterns.
* To inspect laboratory equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
* To collaborate on maintaining efficiency and introducing new methods.
* To assist in safety, health, and welfare measures for staff.
* To assist in training students, on-call personnel, junior staff, and visitors.
* To maintain ISO15189 accreditation status.
* To represent the Chief Medical Scientist at meetings when required.
* To attend courses and meetings for up-to-date knowledge.
* To perform other duties as appropriate to the grade.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants must have statutory registration, professional qualifications, and experience relevant to the role. They should be registered or eligible for registration on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by CORU and provide proof of application for registration if applicable.
