a prominent multidisciplinary engineering and environmental contractor, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Cork. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, impactful projects across the energy, commercial, public sector, and civil infrastructure sectors, within a highly regarded organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Collaboration : Work with the Geotechnical team on energy, roads, and commercial projects.
2. Comprehensive Involvement : Contribute to all phases of projects, including conceptual design, site investigation, detailed design, and on-site monitoring.
3. Design Assistance : Support senior engineers in developing designs that meet current regulations and standards.
4. Documentation : Prepare project-related documentation such as drawings, reports, and specifications.
5. Coordination : Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
6. Site Visits : Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
7. Geotechnical Investigation : Plan and manage geotechnical investigations, encompassing fieldwork and laboratory testing.
8. Reporting : Produce geotechnical reports, including factual, interpretive, and baseline studies.
9. Technical Support : Draft design basis memoranda and work closely with CAD Technicians to create technical reports and specifications.
10. Industry Standards Compliance : Participate in bid analysis and ensure project alignment with industry standards.
Requirements
11. Experience : 2–5 years in a geotechnical engineering role.
12. Education : Degree in Engineering (Level 8 or 9) from an accredited program.
13. Technical Skills :Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting tools.Strong understanding of EN standards and industry best practices.
14. Personal Attributes :Attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
15. Additional Requirements :Full Category B driving license.Familiarity with government contract documentation (an advantage).
