Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned ecologist to take on a leadership role in ecological consultancy. The ideal candidate will possess minimum 3 years post-graduate experience and be well-versed in project delivery, client engagement, and team management.
Key Responsibilities include managing ecology contracts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality consultancy services, and providing ecological input into various projects such as wind farms, road schemes, and commercial developments. Additionally, candidates will conduct and oversee ecological fieldwork and species/habitat surveys, prepare and review Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), and lead the preparation of Appropriate Assessments (AA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Biodiversity chapters for EIARs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in Ecology or a related discipline
* Minimum 3 years relevant post-graduate experience in consultancy
* Full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM, CIWEM, or a similar professional body
* Strong technical report writing and project management skills
* In-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation
* Demonstrated experience in CEMP preparation and implementation
