This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving efficiency and excellence across one of our most strategic projects.WHAT WILL YOU DO?As a Senior Functional Business Analyst, you will play a central role in a large, strategic mobilisation and transition programme, analysing existing operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and driving efficiency initiatives. This includes defining operational processes (As-Is & To-Be) by mapping current workflows, designing future-state processes, and clarifying roles, hand-offs, escalations, and automation opportunities. Typical outputs include process maps, RACI matrices, and SOP outlines. You will ensure that Abtran's processes align with client requirements and consistently meet contractual SLA commitments.You will translate operations into requirements, bridging the gap between business and technology. This involves documenting functional and non-functional requirements, data and integration needs, reporting requirements, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria, ensuring the technical solution truly meets operational needs. You will work closely with the business, operations, and project teams to ensure operational needs are fully understood, accurately translated into technical solutions, and successfully implemented in practice.Finally, you will enable operational readiness, supporting smooth go-live by ensuring processes are documented, support models are in place, metrics are defined, and risks are mitigated, helping the overall project to succeed.How you will spend your day:While no two days are the same, your role will involve a variety of impactful activities, including:Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with clients and internal business operations process owners to map current ("As Is") processes and identify opportunities for improvement.Managing requirements: Partner with the wider PMO programme team to gather, consolidate, and manage business and functional requirements.Providing project updates: Communicate progress, highlight risks, and escalate challenges to ensure alignment across the project team.Advocating for the customer: Serve as a key customer advocate, ensuring the team delivers solutions that benefit both the Abtran business and the client.Analysing processes: Examine existing processes to identify inefficiencies, determine root causes, and quantify potential improvements.Facilitating workshops: Lead workshops to capture, quantify, and document business requirements.Supporting solution design: Facilitate discussions on proposed solutions and potential changes to existing processes.Translating requirements: Work closely with technical teams to convert business needs into clear functional specifications, enabling the development of accurate technical solutions by the Technical Business Analyst.Managing change impact: Assess the impact of proposed changes on the business and develop implementation and change management plans.Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Training, Quality & Performance (TQP), ICT, Learning & Development, and PMO teams to implement process changes successfully.Proactive problem-solving: Anticipate challenges, think critically, and plan proactively to deliver business requirements efficiently and effectively.Teamwork & Collaboration:Show a positive attitude in all interactions.Be flexible and adapt to different situations, customer, and business needs.Build strong relationships with peers, colleagues, managers, and cross-functional teams.Share and document knowledge to support team learning.Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and represent Abtran positively.WHAT YOU NEEDSpecifically, the Senior Functional Business Analyst will have:Minimum Qualifications:Degree level qualification10+ years of experience in business analysis or functional analysis roles, with several years in a senior or lead capacity.Ability to quickly integrate into an existing project, hit the ground running, and deliver results within the 6-month timeframe.Ideal Experience:Experience in business analyst project related activities, ideally in a customer service environmentAbility to understand business and process requirementsExperience in producing high-quality Business Requirements Documents, Business Processes Mapping, and documentation skillsDemonstrated experience of customer servicesExperience of process analysisExperience in lean 6 sigma is beneficialExperience coordinating and implementing changes in people, process or technologyExperience in identifying, assessing and developing improvement initiativesUnderstanding of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & Outlook)Competencies Required:Highly motivated and enthusiasticCustomer-focused with a strong service orientationExcellent written, oral, and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeStrong analytical and problem-solving mindsetAdaptable and able to perform effectively under pressureExceptional attention to detailStrong business acumen and commercial awarenessCollaborative team player who thrives in group settingsSound decision-making and stakeholder influencing skillsWe've told you what you will do for us, now let us tell you what we will do for you:When you join Abtran, you don't just start a job, you become part of a team and a vibrant community.
