Offer description

We are seeking a Risk Officer to join our Risk function at Pionew Ireland.
You will contribute to the development of the company's enterprise risk management framework.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional who is proactive and confident in taking ownership of a wide range of responsibilities.
As a risk officer, you will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this position offers a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the evolving crypto landscape and contribute to building an effective risk framework.
Key Responsibilities
Support the risk function to implement, embed and develop Pionew's Enterprise Risk Management Framework including the risk management policy
Monitor and analyse risks across financial, operational, compliance, market, liquidity, technology
Conduct horizon scanning and assess risk exposure related to crypto-assets, custody, trading, and settlement activities
Support the development of risk models tailored to crypto-asset products and services
Assist in the risk assessment process (identification, measurement, mitigation) for new and existing products/services, processes, initiatives, etc.
Assist in stress testing, scenario analysis, and resilience assessments.
Review and challenge risk assessments
Collate and track risk information (Key risk indicators) and collate risk reports for the CRO/Board, ensure timely escalation of emerging threats
Prepare regular and ad-hoc risk reports for senior management and regulators
Support with the maintenance and updating of Pionew's risk register
Support the development of a robust risk culture and champion risk management within Pionew
Conduct and prepare risk information for risk meetings with staff and officers
Carry out testing of key controls including the scope of testing, collection of data, testing of controls and resultant reports to document outcomes and propose improvements
Support in the delivery of risk training and prepare risk awareness material as required
Support with the oversight of internal audit findings implementation
Contribute to audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
Support incident response processes and post-event analysis, ensure timely escalation of incidents.
Support with the management, oversight and remediation of risk incidents
Maintain, update and retain all risk related documentation and records
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
3+ years of experience in compliance, financial services, fintech, or crypto/virtual assets
Strong knowledge of EU financial services regulations including crypto-assets
Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Located within Ireland
Desirable requirements
Strong knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets and associated risks
Risk management qualification
MiCAR & DORA experience
