Lead Mechanical Design Engineer - HERO Recruitment Ltd.
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to take a central role in the design, development, and validation of advanced medical technologies – covering both equipment and disposable components.
This is a senior leadership role that combines technical expertise with project and people management, where you’ll drive innovation, shape product requirements, and ensure scalable, high-quality solutions.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design and validation of assemblies, components, and packaging.
Define specifications, select materials, and determine optimal manufacturing methods.
Conduct feasibility assessments and proof-of-concept builds.
Drive continuous improvement in design, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team.
Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
Lead technical reviews and present insights to internal teams and external partners.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent).
6–9 years’ medical device design experience, with at least 5 years in team leadership.
Strong background in both equipment and disposable medical technologies.
Proficiency in GD&T, DfSS, DOE, and statistical analysis.
Solid knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.
Experience with quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, MDR, FDA).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and deliver results.
