Job Description:
In this position, you will work as part of an overall EHS team and will be primarily responsible for developing, coordinating, continuously improving, and managing specific Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs onsite. This may involve close liaison with Safety engineers.
Examples of site IH programs include hearing conservation, ionising and non-ionising radiation, laser safety, and ventilation. You will also support the overall EHS management system and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 standards, which will involve close collaboration with EHS engineers.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct IH risk assessments and employee/area exposure monitoring for physical and chemical hazards.
2. Support IH surveys related to our Equipment Sign Off (ESO) program.
3. Serve as the content expert for assigned IH programs.
4. Assist in accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis.
5. Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
6. Analyze data, identify trends, and define focus areas.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of an NFQ Level 8 qualification in a core EHS discipline or a science, chemical/process engineering-related third-level qualification, along with a Post Grad. Diploma or MSc. in an EHS discipline. A core EHS qualification is mandatory for this role.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Approximately 2 years of relevant work experience.
* High proficiency in recognizing, evaluating, controlling, and preventing occupational and environmental hazards.
* Strong oral and written communication skills for interactions on industrial hygiene matters.
* Ability to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.
* Efficient work methods, strong analytical skills, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
* Additional training in areas such as Ionising Radiation, Noise, Occupational Monitoring, etc., is advantageous.
* Excellent presentation skills to communicate IH data to technical and non-technical audiences.
