The Staff Nurse will ensure that the highest standards of nursing care are delivered.
To plan and deliver a high standard of individualised care based on assessment at admission ensuring this care plan is implemented, evaluated and reviewed every three months and as and when required and that relevant information is cascaded to appropriate staff.
To ensure supervision during meal time
To administer medication safely and within statutory guidelines
To work effectively and efficiently in terms of time management, personal organisation and adherence to organisational policies and work procedures.
To lead and manage performance of a multidisciplinary team.
To attend multidisciplinary team meetings
To participate in completing the weekly collection of data, incident/accident complaints and developing action plans for same.
To cultivate positive relationships with residents and facilitate autonomy.
To participate in quality development and audit.
Practice professional and responsible health care.
To co-ordinate efficient and effective resource utilisation and staffing levels (skill mix, staffing, bed occupancy etc).
To utilise advanced skills in patient assessment and undertake appropriate clinical decisions accordingly
To communicate with residents, families/carers, G.Ps, Public Health Nurses or anyone else involved in residents' care to ensure a patient-focused service
To ensure all Health & Safety statutory requirements and Fire procedures are complied with and that incidents are reported and investigated in accordance with established (HSE & HIQA 2016) standards and requirements
To assist in the process of Clinical Risk Management
To audit clinical practice
To assist and co-operate in the investigation of patient complaints in accordance with Ard Na Ri Complaints Management Policy and report to the Director of Nursing
To maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of the affairs of Ard Na Ri and the people who avail of the service
