OverviewProject Engineer (Mechanical) – Kilkenny Head Office. Location: Kilkenny. Duration: Permanent. Work Hours/Schedule: Mix of office/site based and work-from-home; Monday to Friday.Due to continued success and growth across the Water division, we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) Team as a Project Engineer. The successful candidate will work on a wide scope of Water and Wastewater Treatment projects across the Island of Ireland. The Project Engineer will work alongside the Project Manager in coordinating a multi‑disciplinary team to include process/mechanical/civil/structural/electrical work associated with various Water and Wastewater Treatment projects across the Island of Ireland. The Project Engineer will assist in the design development of water and wastewater treatment contracts from early design/concept stage through to detailed design and into delivery/construction, collaborating with the Project Manager to prepare delivery documentation for client submissions including technical submissions, managing sub‑consultant submissions (including planning), preparing regulatory Health & Safety documentation, detailed design packages, tendering documentation and construction design packages. During delivery, the Project Engineer will liaise with design teams and suppliers, manage subcontractors, installation personnel and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Ensure all equipment is sized, procured, delivered, installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with contractual requirements.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of delegated projects and project issuesEnsure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projectsEvaluate Client Specifications and liaise with Client and Client RepresentativesCommunicate with the Project Manager, Design Leads and Sub-Consultants during project executionInteract with the multi‑disciplined engineering team, partaking in final design, equipment selection and procurement activitiesOrganise, co‑ordinate and manage design activities while maintaining H&S in line with Veolia standardsManage aspects of the project within defined budgets and agreed timelines, monitoring adherence to the project brief and programmeApply procedures related to contract executionQualifications & SkillsMinimum NFQ Level 7 degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred) and/or SciencePractical site experience (Desirable)Experience as part of a project team from initial stages to deliveryExperience managing design/site activities including team coordinationAbility to work on own initiative and coordinate design/site activitiesExperience in water/wastewater engineering projects (Desirable)IT skills: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPointGood organisational and time management skillsSelf‑motivated with strong communication and writing skillsPlease note: If you are an EU/EEA national, you may be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
