Our client, a global leader of medical device manufacturing solutions is hiring an Automation Engineer in Galway. The successful candidate will be part of a team that designs and builds Automated Equipment for the medical device, pharmaceutical and other highly regulated sectors. You will become part of a growing multi-disciplinary team delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to full implementation and have responsibility of Machine control system software design, development & commissioning. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain varied experience in the design of high-tech engineering applications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, Robotics, Motion, HMI, SCADA, Vision
* Develop, test, commission & support machine control software
* Design of equipment to CE, electrical, machinery safety and clients’ standards
* Interpret & develop design & validation documentation required for regulated industries (URS, FDS, FAT, etc)
* Specification of control system components
* Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team throughout an entire project life cycle
Job requirements:
* Relevant 3rd level degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in this role or a similar position.
* PLC & HMI experience desirable, preferably with Allen Bradley or Siemens platforms
* Knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development
* Ability to create technical documentation
* Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics an advantage
* Excellent communication skills with a Proactive and energetic approach
* Strong organizational skills with a quality minded outlook and a problem-solving attitude
* Ability to work well in a multifunctional team
* Driving License and ability to travel
