Applications are invited from suitably qualified person for the following vacancies which may arise within Longford County Council.The purpose of the position of Technician Grade II is to provide draughting, technical and
ancillary services in all fields of Local authority work including engineering, architectural,
technological, planning, and environmental services as may be required under the direction
and supervision of the relevant engineering/cognate grade, or his/her appointed
representative.
The duties of the post of Technician Grade II include, but are not limited to:
• Responsibility for the execution of inspections, surveys, draughting and reporting as required.
• Provision of support to a senior officer or a group of senior officers
• Participation in such training programmes as will enable him/her to discharge his/her responsibilities in the various functional areas of the local authority.
• the research, collection and collating of background material over wide-ranging areas in preparation of reports as appropriate.
• Acting for a Technician of a higher rank during his/her absence or as required to do so.
• Any other such duties as may be required from time to time.
