Site Manager (PICW Certified) - Water/Wastewater Construction Projects
Location: Donegal
Duration: Temporary Contract | 6-8 weeks - potential to extend
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
Site Manager - Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to take responsibility for the commercial and technical management of our project on site. The Site Manager will oversee all onsite activities, ensuring that tasks are completed safely, within specification, on time, and on budget, to the highest quality standards and in line with the Client Minimum Requirements (CMR).

Day-to-Day Duties:
4. Plan, manage, and monitor construction work while promoting the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
5. Familiarise yourself with design documentation, project programme, and construction methodologies for the assigned project.
6. Set persons to work and coordinate activities in line with the Client Minimum Requirements toolkit standard.
7. Ensure all plant and equipment are fit for purpose and inspected as required.
8. Review all third-party RAMS/SSOW and produce methodology sequencing to ensure alignment with the CMR toolkit.
9. Demonstrate, promote, and acknowledge positive behaviours to foster a proactive safety culture on site.
10. Identify and prevent unsafe behaviours and defects.
11. Investigate events in line with Client policies in the event of an incident.
12. Coordinate all activities to ensure smooth interactions and avoid conflicts.
13. Communicate daily briefings with all supervisors, employees, and contractors.
14. Report on programme progress, identifying risks and opportunities to project completion; provide a three-week look ahead to the Client and their representatives weekly.
15. Develop and maintain a quality log for each subcontractor and ensure all defects are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
16. Carry out site H&S inspections/audits as required by the CMR.
17. Ensure all personnel have received a site-specific induction and that competencies are checked and recorded in the site training matrix.
18. Ensure all PSCS duties are fulfilled on site.
19. Manage subcontractor performance on site and escalate issues to the Project Manager.
20. Optimise workflows to reduce project programme where possible.
21. Demonstrate commercial awareness and assist in resolving disputes and claims.

Required Skills & Experience:
23. IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers (SHE)
24. 5+ years' experience working in multi-discipline site-based projects (mechanical, electrical, automation, commissioning)
25. 5+ years' construction experience, preferably in trades/supervision roles
26. Trade or engineering background
27. Experience in the water/wastewater industry
28. Knowledge of water industry construction methodology, equipment, and processes
29. Lead by example on H&S and empower all personnel to work safely
30. Proactive and professional communication style
31. Strong relationship management skills
32. Strong organisational and planning skills
33. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
34. Ability to lead, manage, and actively participate in project teams
35. Strong problem-solving skills
36. Ability to gather information and consult with the appropriate team members to resolve problems as they arise
