We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, delivering solutions that meet the needs of our clients and communities.Position Overview:The Building Contracts Manager (Civils) is responsible for the overall management and delivery of civil and building projects from pre-construction through to handover. This includes oversight of project planning, commercial performance, programme delivery, and site management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge of civil engineering and building works, a deep understanding of Irish construction regulations, and proven experience managing Public Works and private sector contracts.Key Responsibilities:Project & Contract ManagementOversee the successful delivery of multiple civil and building projects across Ireland.Take full responsibility for contract performance, programme, cost, and quality.Manage all contractual and commercial aspects, including variations, valuations, and claims.Review and negotiate contract terms (Public Works, NEC, JCT, or bespoke forms).Lead project setup, planning, and execution from tender handover through completion.Ensure strict adherence to design specifications, contract requirements, and client expectations.Commercial & Financial ControlWork closely with Quantity Surveyors to monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.Ensure timely submission of progress claims, variations, and final accounts.Manage procurement of subcontractors and suppliers in line with company procedures.Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE)Promote a strong health and safety culture on all sites.Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.Fulfil duties as PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) where required.Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and method statement reviews.Maintain compliance with ISO-certified management systems (9001, 14001, Client, Stakeholder & Design CoordinationAct as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and public bodies.Attend progress meetings, provide project updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.Liaise with design teams, architects, engineers, and planners to resolve technical issues.Support tendering and pre-construction stages by providing buildability and planning input.Leadership & Team ManagementManage and mentor project teams, site managers, and engineers.Ensure effective resource allocation across projects.Promote a collaborative, solutions-driven culture focused on safety, quality, and delivery.Qualifications & Experience:Essential:7+ years' experience in civil engineering or building project management within Ireland.Proven track record managing medium to large-scale civil / building projects (€1m–€20m+).Strong understanding of Irish construction law, contract forms (Public Works, NEC, JCT), and industry standards.Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.Full clean Irish/UK driving licence.Desirable:Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.Safe Pass, CSCS, and PSCS / PSDP awareness certification.IOSH / CIF Managing Safely in Construction qualification.Membership of a relevant professional body (Engineers Ireland, CIOB, ICE, etc.).Core Competencies:Project Planning & ExecutionContract AdministrationCommercial AwarenessLeadership & Team DevelopmentHealth, Safety & Environmental ComplianceStakeholder CommunicationProblem Solving & Decision MakingJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From €90,000.00 per yearBenefits:Company carCompany eventsCompany pensionEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingWellness programExperience:Contract management: 7 years (required)Project Management: 7 years (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
