We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in Galway as a Health and Safety Specialist. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality advisory services to clients and internal teams.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
* Review designs and risk assessments to ensure compliance with H+S laws.
* Attend design coordination meetings, site and stakeholder meetings.
* Coordinate residual hazards and risks.
* Provide expert advice to clients and designers on compliance with legislation and best practice.
* Manage contractor safety and review contractor safety documentation.
* Manage dedicated projects including financial requirements of dedicated projects.
* Offer general health and safety consultancy services to clients.
* Provide technical support to all office projects in the areas of design safety.
* Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
* Apply quality assurance and environmental management principles in compliance with organisational policies.
* Assist the Quality, Safety and Sustainability team with continuous improvement of our safety culture and key safety programmes.
Requirements:
* A relevant degree or diploma in Health and Safety, qualifying for membership of IOSH or Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Ireland with post-qualification Safety specific training.
* Certificate of attendance at Engineers Ireland/ACEI PSDP CPD training.
* Sound knowledge of safety in design and construction safety.
* Experience in developing and improving company safety policies, culture and systems.
* Competent report writing with good time management skills and ability to prioritise work and manage tasks concurrently across several projects.
* Flexible to travel to site and projects within Ireland.
* Full Irish/EU driving licence.
