Senior Associate / Of Counsel – Financial Regulation €110k-150k The Role Join this highly regarded Financial Regulatory team within a leading international law firm.
Advise top tier domestic and international client base on Irish and EU financial regulation.
The team is particularly well known for its strength in Fin Tech, payments, cryptoassets, and financial services regulation, and has advised on many high-profile migrations and market entry projects into Ireland.
The practice operates as part of a wider global regulatory group, offering significant cross border exposure and collaboration.
You will play a key role, working closely with partners and taking ownership of matters directly with clients.
The role offers genuine responsibility, strong client access, and the opportunity to develop a market profile in a fast-growing practice area.
You will be involved in: Advising on Irish and EU financial services regulation, including Mi FID II, banking and lending regulation, market abuse, and financial crime.
Acting on Fin Tech matters including payments, e-money, cryptoassets, crowdfunding, and digital regulation (including PSD2, Mi CAR and DORA).
Advising on regulatory change projects and ongoing compliance frameworks.
Supporting financial institution M&A and regulatory aspects of transactions.
Advising on Central Bank of Ireland regimes, including fitness and probity and individual accountability.
Working closely with domestic and international banks, investment firms, asset managers, funds, Fin Techs, and international law firms.
Driving matters forward directly with clients, with partner support where required.
Contributing to business development, industry engagement, and thought leadership initiatives.
Collaborating with regulatory colleagues across multiple jurisdictions and participating in global Fin Tech knowledge sharing initiatives.
The Person To be successful, you will bring:4+ years' PQE as a qualified lawyer.
Experience in financial services regulation gained in private practice or in-house (Ireland or another common law jurisdiction).
Strong academic background and excellent technical, drafting, and analytical skills.
High levels of commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Confidence working directly with clients and managing matters autonomously.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
A genuine interest in financial regulation, Fin Tech, and becoming a recognised advisor in this space.
Willingness to contribute to business development and wider team initiatives..
