The Fintech team is responsible for a diverse range of products and workstreams, all with the united goal of helping restaurants make dealing with money easier. From quickly and seamlessly taking guest payments to extending credit via our lending products, the Fintech product team tackles some of the biggest and most impactful initiatives within Toast. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for Toast Checking – the checking account, jars/savings, and debit card quickly becoming the financial center for Toast customers. This is an end‑to‑end product owner role: strategy, roadmap, execution, partner management (external banks / vendors / card processors), legal & compliance coordination, and go‑to‑market for core banking features. You will move fast, own decisions, and be accountable for measurable business outcomes.
A Day In The Life (Responsibilities)
Work closely with cross‑functional teams and various product domains across Toast to define strategy, support ideation, design, development, feature launch, and support of Toast Checking.
Create & present business cases and business models for new product investments, and measure/quantify success of product launches.
Write technical and non‑technical user stories, define requirements, workflows, and wireframes in collaboration with Engineering, Design, Data Science and other teams.
Manage the backlog of an established engineering team, define roadmap requirements, and facilitate agile ceremonies.
Communicate and collaborate with technical counterparts, and business‑oriented stakeholders, to consistently set and meet expectations.
Partner with GTM and Product Marketing to package TCA, measure conversion funnels, drive adoption and retention, and define pricing/promotions/attach strategies.
Define success metrics, build dashboards, run experiments, and iterate. Own adoption, activation accounts, average balance growth, deposit velocity, card attach/usage, NPS, and operational SLAs.
Embrace and advocate for the use of AI tools to accelerate product discovery, streamline execution, and explore new product experiences – helping shape how we build and what we build.
What You’ll Need To Thrive (Requirements)
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in a product management role.
A passion for innovating in financial services and desire to transform the restaurant & hospitality industry.
Experience managing products from their early inception to measurable post‑launch success.
A track record of strong execution, delivering speed and quality.
Customer obsession – experience running VoC, customer interviews, and translating insights into prioritized roadmaps that move KPIs.
Versatile skillet – you’re able to design innovative financial products, experiment to deliver top‑notch personalized user experiences, drive consistent risk model improvements, build efficient risk and operations tooling, and develop a scalable platform.
Strong written & verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on communicating roadmaps, tradeoffs and technical solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
High EQ and is skilled at building and maintaining relationships with engineering & design teams.
Excited to roll up your sleeves and understand the inner workings of web applications & developer services.
Comfortable with data analysis tools like SQL and Excel.
Bonus Skills To Have
Direct experience in banking, embedded finance, or lending.
Experience working fast‑growing teams & hyper‑growth companies.
Experience incorporating legal & regulatory oversight into consumer or business products.
