A bachelor’s degree (level 8 NFQ) or master’s degree (level 9NFQ) in physical activity, sport or exercise science or a related discipline.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
Collaborate with Professor Catherine Woods, Ms. Sinead Kelly and the ULMedX team to conduct a specified programme of research. This will entail using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, stakeholder engagement, project administration among other duties.
Carry out administrative work to support ULMedX, and any additional duties as may reasonably be required, within the general scope and level of the post.
Liaise with internal and external project stakeholders, including Limerick Sports Partnership, the Health Services Executive and the Limerick Hospitals group.
Organise student training, specifically the "inter-professional education" and "practice-experiences" of undergraduate and postgraduate students contributing to ULMedX.
Contribute to the research performance of the ULMedX by presenting results of the research at different national fora.
Perform duties collaboratively and individually.
Assist in identifying future research priorities and target funding initiatives that align with the goals of ULMedX.
Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities as required by the supervisory team and/or Faculty to develop research skills and competencies.
Participate in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group, including under- and postgraduate supervision and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
Support the administrative aspects of the ULMedX research programme.
Conduct research using a mixed methods approach as guided by the research team.
Liaise with local, national, and international stakeholders.
Publish research findings and present at conferences.
Lead on the development of the ULMedX student experience.
Identify future research priorities and funding opportunities.
