Overview
This position requires a highly motivated graduate engineer to join a start-up product development team working on a novel embolization device for the treatment of vascular conditions. The role provides hands‑on exposure to design development, prototyping, and verification activities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers while progressively taking ownership of testing, prototype evaluation, and engineering problem‑solving tasks. The Graduate R&D Engineer will contribute to development activities including test method creation, data analysis, and technical document generation, while building an understanding of vascular anatomy and clinical application.
Responsibilities
Support design development including CAD modelling, prototyping, and iterative design improvements
Develop, set up, and take ownership of new test methods to evaluate device performance
Design and build test fixtures and execute benchtop testing (including Instron and simulated‑use models)
Analyse experimental data using statistical techniques and engineering judgement to support design decisions
Generate clear, structured technical reports summarising test methods, results, and conclusions
Inspect, assemble, and evaluate prototype devices, identifying opportunities for improvement
Support design verification activities including protocol development, execution, and reporting
Participate in planning, execution, and analysis of pre‑clinical (animal) studies in collaboration with senior engineers and external partners
