Job Description The hands-on implementation of the day-to-day Project Road maintenance requirements.
To provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours emergency responses.
To carry out routine maintenance activities including: Traffic Management Winter Maintenance Pavement repairs Emergency Response Bridge Maintenance Accident Damage Repair (e.g. safety barrier boundary fence repairs) Road Furniture cleaning Landscaping / Grass cutting / Weed control Litter collection General maintenance duties To undertake all allocated maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications Essential: 2nd level education Class C Driver's licence Valid Safe Pass holder Driver CPC Relevant experience with a background in Motorway / Road Construction / Maintenance.
Evidence of practical experience in one or more of the routine maintenance activities listed above An understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principles Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Good standard of written and spoken English Self-motivated and enthusiastic Good interpersonal skills Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to learn new job specific skills Desirable Up-to-date training/qualifications in: - Traffic Management - Safety barrier installers course - H S Related training - First Aid, Fire Warden, Manual Handling.
Safety Rep. - Other complementary work-related training courses/qualifications - Class CE Driver's licence Experience in a similar role Experience of motorway/road construction/maintenance Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices used in performing the road maintenance activities Additional Requirements: Willingness to: Provide 24/7 on-call cover on a rostered basis Work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions Work irregular hours outside of normal work hours Flexible approach Perform night work as required Gritter driving Own transport
