About the Role OEM Automation Engineer 1613 at Simo Tech, based in Dublin, Ireland.
The role involves supporting the automation aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment in a GMP‑regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide automation guidance and expertise to multidisciplinary project teams executing projects on vial/syringe filling lines, packaging, and production environments from design through commissioning and start‑up.
Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Support integration of automation systems with MES, PCS, and enterprise platforms (L2 integration).
Generate and review engineering documentation, including User Requirement Specifications and Functional Design Specifications.
Execute IOQ protocols and support validation activities on‑site.
Update standard operating procedures as required by project scope.
Participate in equipment installation, root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting of control systems.
Provide technical input to change control processes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Manage and interact with third‑party vendors to ensure equipment delivery meets quality, schedule, and specification requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, Physics & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years' relevant experience in automation engineering, ideally within biopharmaceutical or clean utilities environments.
Proven hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI hardware/software (essential).
Strong background in control systems automation, including vendor management and technical oversight.
Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle and validation practices.
Independent, self‑motivated, and organized, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness and ability to work on‑site minimum 3 days per week or as project needs dictate.
