Role Overview: We are seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer with 10+ years of UI/Angular experience and strong architectural design skills.
The ideal candidate will have proven capability in solution architecture, team leadership, and experience integrating with RESTful APIs / Java services.
This role is part of the Corporate Solutions Programme, focused on delivering modern, scalable, and secure digital solutions for our Corporate Customers and Brokers.
The successful candidate will lead front-end development and guide technical design within a collaborative Agile team.
Key Responsibilities: Front-End Development & Architecture Design and develop responsive user interfaces using Angular.
Define and implement component based architecture and best practices for scalability.
Ensure cross browser compatibility and performance optimisation.
Apply architectural patterns such as MVC and BFF.
Technical Leadership Provide guidance and mentorship to front-end developers.
Lead technical discussions and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
Collaborate with solution architects to design end-to-end solutions.
Agile Collaboration Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, and UX teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Code Quality & Testing Write unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
System Integration Collaborate with Dev Ops and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and performance standards.
Skills & Experience: Strong proficiency in Angular, with hands-on experience in component-based architecture and reusable, modular components.
Expertise in solution architecture for front-end systems, including design principles and integration strategies.
Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers.
Integration with Java Services / RESTful APIs, including JWT token handling.
Responsive Design aligned to a defined design system leveraging frameworks like Bootstrap or Angular Material.
Building comprehensive Unit Tests with frameworks like Jasmine or Karma.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, ADO.
Proficiency in Agile development tools and methodologies (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Scrum, Kanban).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
