The Role – Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across energy and industrial projects.
You will lead projects from early concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards while maintaining a strong focus on quality, efficiency and coordination.
This role offers a blend of technical design, project leadership and client engagement, with the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design for HVAC and building services systems on energy and industrial projects
Manage projects from concept design through detailed design, construction and handover
Ensure compliance with CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS and EN standards
Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process engineers
Oversee technical quality, design reviews and value engineering opportunities
Manage project timelines, deliverables and reporting
Liaise with clients, stakeholders and contractors throughout project lifecycle
Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Assist with site visits, inspections and commissioning activities when required
About You
Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
7+ years' experience in MEP or building services design within a consultancy environment
Strong background in HVAC and mechanical systems for industrial, energy or commercial projects
Experience working alongside process teams with a focus on base build systems
Knowledge of regulated environments such as ATEX, cleanrooms or laboratories is beneficial
Strong communication, coordination and leadership skills
Proven ability to manage projects and deliver to deadlines
Based in Ireland with flexibility to travel within Europe when required
