Our client, a leading player in the Irish FMCG sector with a portfolio of beloved Irish brands, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their growing finance team.
Thispermanentposition is based inDublin 12 with Hybrid working 60/40.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Financial Controller:
* Lead and manage the Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll, and General Ledger teams.
* Oversee weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting and reporting.
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation of general ledger accounts and monthly management accounts.
* Manage intercompany reconciliations and agreement of balances across multiple entities.
* Review monthly balance sheet accounts and drive high standards of accuracy and compliance.
* Act as a key liaison for the external audit process and prepare all supporting documentation.
* Support statutory compliance across accounting and tax requirements.
* Contribute to the annual budgeting process and internal reporting improvements.
* Act as the finance point of contact for business-wide engagement and routine queries.
* Support continuous improvement and team development to ensure operational excellence within the finance function.
Qualifications & Experience of Assistant Financial Controller:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) with 7+ years’ PQE.
* Proven experience managing a small finance team, particularly in transactional finance areas.
* Strong understanding of ERP systems (experience with IFS is a plus).
* Excellent Excel skills and the ability to work with high volumes of data.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive mindset.
* Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work collaboratively across departments.
