Avencia Consulting is a specialist Technology and Change consultancy delivering digital transformation, IT strategy, and people-led change initiatives. Part of the Oliver James Group, we combine consulting expertise with strong market insight to support clients as they modernise and scale.
We are at an early growth stage and are building our consulting propositions and client pipeline. This role will play a key part in driving outbound engagement and developing early-stage consulting opportunities.
All candidates must be based in Dublin or willing to relocate.

* The Business Development Consultant is responsible for targeted outbound engagement to generate new consulting opportunities across priority clients and sectors.
* This role suits individuals from

people and services-based consulting sales
, where prospecting, structured outreach, and relationship-led selling are central.
* Working closely with the
Head of Consulting
and
Commercial Director
, you'll identify buyers, understand client challenges, execute outreach campaigns, and convert engagement into qualified opportunities. Campaigns will focus on areas such as quality assurance, AI in the SDLC, business process automation, and technology-enabled change.
* The role is metrics-driven, with a clear focus on pipeline creation.

* Support the development and execution of consulting campaigns and propositions
* Build buyer maps, contact lists, and targeted messaging
* Execute structured outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and follow-ups
* Track activity, meetings booked, and opportunities generated
* Qualify and progress early-stage opportunities
* Maintain accurate pipeline activity in Salesforce/Accelo
* Collaborate with Oliver James consultants to convert referrals into meetings
* Support associate mobilisation for early-stage engagements where required

* Background in contract recruitment or consulting/people services sales
* Confident with cold outreach across phone, email, and LinkedIn
* Strong research, communication, and follow-up skills
* Looking for someone with at least 5+ years experience within contract recruitment or people and services-based consulting sales, where prospecting, structured outreach, and relationship-led selling are central.
* Commercially curious and comfortable in a metrics-driven environment

to Avencia's consulting pipeline, gaining hands-on exposure across consulting sales, campaigns, buyer engagement, and associate mobilisation, supported by structured training and senior mentorship.
