We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our Pricing & Underwriting team. Reporting to the Portfolio Analysis Manager, this role will involve working as part of the Retail Portfolio Analysis team. The purpose of the role will be to provide insight through Data Analysis to the Pricing and Underwriting Management Team to enable the achievement of performance objectives.

What you will be doing:
• Regular production, analysis and development of core datasets and reports
• Database administration/stewardship, data preparation/extraction/integration/quality control
• Production of meaningful observations and recommendations through data analysis from internal and external sources
• The development of analytical tools for use by Pricing and Underwriting, including processes to develop the sophistication of underwriting analysis
• Production of analyses to solve business problems and ad-hoc projects as requested, e.g., Profitability, Performance, Business Mix, Exposure Management, Fraud at inception
• Presentation of findings/recommendations to peers and/or management
• Collaboration with other analysts to share and demonstrate best practice, and representation of Underwriting in cross-functional projects
• Assisting the Portfolio Analysis Underwriting Manager in planning, team training and deputising as required

• Proven experience in an analytical role with a track record of successful delivery.
• A completed degree in business or IT is essential; APA and CIP qualifications are desirable.
• Solid understanding of relevant insurance business classes.
• Experience using R, SAS, SQL or other programming languages/statistical software desirable
• Previous data analysis experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Highly effective planning and organizational skills, enabling you to meet objectives consistently.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of drive, enthusiasm, and commitment.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
