Applications are invited for the position of: Radiographer The above role is available for 12 months, 35 hours per week. Opportunities for MRI training may be available as part of this position. The role: To undertake Radiographic and Imaging Examinations in a professional manner. Adhere to professional guidelines as determined by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and radiation Therapists and maintain a high standard of Radiography. To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits are adhered to. To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols: be responsible for the correct identification of patient images To report any defects or problems either directly to Manager or Clinical Specialist in area where working. To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development. To report all defects and occurrences which might affect safety. To carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in area where working. Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the service user and in relation to all hospital activities as per statutory requirements The Candidates: Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent in (Diagnostic Radiography) Must be registered with CORU Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers. Have proven ability to work under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Evidence of continuing professional development. Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative. Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
