Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
Primary Function
The main responsibility of the Operations Quality Manager is to manage a team of Quality Engineers/Processors, ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance. Responsibility for implementing Quality objectives and ensuring short term and long-term Quality goals are met.
Major Responsibilities
* Develops strategic approach and planning to minimize risk of compliance and/ or regulatory deficiencies.
* Actively identifies, develops and/ or supports the implementation of new concepts, processes, tools, materials, and programs to strengthen quality and compliance.
* Leads goals with cross-functional scope.
* Leads process improvement strategic programs, risk assessments and other Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
* Analyse product quality and process data using statistical techniques to identify trends and implement improvement plans accordingly.
* Lead and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives within the department
* Facilitate audits and regulatory inspections
* Manage quality department staff, their training and development plans.
Skills
* Strong Regulatory and Compliance knowledge
* Capable of analysing data to support the development of strategies to effectively manage the action plans that will resolve the issues.
* Ability to communicate, understand and direct individuals in highly specialized technical fields.
Education and Years Experience
* Relevant 3rd level qualification. Engineering / Manufacturing / Science preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Engineering / Manufacturing / Scientific
* Supervisor experience preferred
