Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Structures within UCD School of Civil Engineering. Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Assistant Professor (below the bar) in structures, in the School of Civil Engineering. This is a 10-month, part-time (0.6 FTE) position. The School of Civil Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent research and education. It has an international reputation as a centre for excellence for research and teaching, ranked in the global top 150 for 'Civil and Structural Engineering' (QS Global Rankings), ranking number 1 in Ireland. The School has world-leading researchers in Critical Infrastructure and Water Resources and is home to the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research, and the Dooge Centre for Water Resources Research. The successful appointee will have the ability to engage actively in the School's research and to make a significant contribution to teaching and university life. The School is recruiting suitably qualified candidates, with an expertise relating to its teaching and research activities in structural engineering. Application Information: Applicants are required to submit two documents, as follows: Document 1: - a cover letter, in which they describe how their academic and research profile aligns with that required by the role; - a 2-page teaching statement, outlining their planned approach to teaching, assessment/student evaluation and module development. Document 2: - A complete CV including all research publications and research grants to date, together with any publications submitted for publication but not yet published, and the names and contact details of three potential referees. 95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Below the Bar (7944) Salary Scale: €42,599 - €72,717 Per Annum Pro rata @0.6FTE Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 15 May 2026.
