Maintenance Engineer Cork Our Client Our client is a specialist manufacturer and global market leader, with staffing at the heart of their ongoing growth and success, currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their already talented team.
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full-time, shift position for Maintenance Engineer in our Clients Cork site, responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance activities.
Day to day, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the resolution, monitoring and recording of the maintenance breakdowns and breakdown follow ups.
Responsible for delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production.
The Engineer must ensure that maintenance works efficiently, effectively and safely.
Duties and Responsibilities Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical experience a bonus.
Providing maintenance support, performance reports and participating in continuous improvement follow up.
Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
Technical support for the plant facilities and services.
Performance of PM routines.
Support Production Team in achieving targets.
Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene online as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs.
Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modifications.
Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies.
Troubleshooting using PLC Programs.
Responsible for completion of your planned work, shifts daily input and control of breakdowns.
Observing all onsite and legislative rules and regulations in terms of Health and Safety.
Adheres to all site policies on quality, safety and environmental.
Control of contractors and acting as Liaison Person as and when required.
Key Skills and Experience Possess relevant trade qualification (Electro / Mechanical).
Minimum 2 years experience in similar role in manufacturing environment.
Possess mechanical (and electrical) maintenance experience and/or qualifications.
Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health and Safety.
Experienced in fault finding and problem solving and preventative maintenance.
Knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation and PLC control systems, would be an advantage.
Knowledge and experience in Maintenance strategy, Maintenance organisation and systems.
