About The Role
The Mercantile Group, one of Irelands leading hospitality groups with venues across South Dublin City Centre, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Stocktaker / Stock Controller
to join our team.
Working closely with our chefs, venue managers, and finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels, conducting regular stocktakes, and providing precise and timely reports that support the groups financial and operational performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a hospitality or food & beverage background who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular stock checks and manage full monthly stocktakes across multiple venues
* Provide reports on drink stock and monthly reports on food stock levels
* Analyse and report on variances, wastage, and trends to support operational decision-making
* Enter purchase details (vendor information, invoices, pricing) into internal databases
* Maintain and update stock systems, setting and reviewing minimum stock levels
* Work closely with chefs, venue managers, and finance teams to ensure consistency and cost control
* Participate in ongoing training and process improvement
Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar stock control or hospitality role (F&B, bar management, or cost control)
* Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Working knowledge of inventory management software
* Knowledge of Procure Wizard is a distinct advantage
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and reporting skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operations team
