Role
* Maintenance Leadership: Oversee all maintenance activities across the site, ensuring planned, preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance is executed effectively. Promote reliability-centred maintenance practices and continuous improvement.
* Utilities Management: Ensure the efficient operation of all utility systems (e.g., steam, compressed air, water, HVAC, electrical). Monitor performance, optimise usage, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
* Facilities Oversight: Manage the upkeep and functionality of site infrastructure, buildings, and services. Lead facility improvement projects and ensure alignment with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
* Plant Reliability: Work closely with Operations to identify reliability issues, implement root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions. Champion asset care strategies and performance monitoring.
* Team Management: Lead, develop, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of approx. 20 staff. Ensure appropriate training, succession planning, and performance management.
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant legislation, safety standards, and internal policies. Maintain documentation and lead audits as required.
* Stores and Spare Parts Management: Oversee the stores and spares system to maintain adequate stock levels, optimise inventory, and support maintenance efficiency.
* Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets for maintenance, utilities, and facilities and Labour. Ensure cost-effective use of resources and timely procurement of parts and services.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal departments (Production, Project Engineering, Quality, EHS, Finance) and external partners (contractors, suppliers, regulators) to ensure alignment and support for engineering initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 8 Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial); Level 9 Master's degree is desirable.
* Minimum of 7 years' experience in engineering leadership roles, with a strong background in maintenance management, energy/utilities oversight, facilities management, and project execution.
* Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams, implementing reliability-focused maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement. Proven ability to develop team capability and foster a high-performance culture.
