About the Role
This exciting position involves working on behalf of a Public Sector Organisation, providing critical health and safety services to support their operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the organisation maintains a safe working environment for its employees and contractors.
The successful candidate will have experience in health and safety management, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a high level of awareness of potential hazards and risks within the workplace, identifying and implementing control measures to mitigate these risks;
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor health and safety performance and provide guidance and advice to supervisors and workers as required;
* Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational standards;
* Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on health and safety matters.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Level 7 Qualification (National Framework of Qualifications) in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent;
* No less than 3 years of satisfactory experience in health and safety management, including construction work and knowledge of construction methods, site management, and construction design processes;
* Current Safe Pass Card; Valid driving licence; Use of own transport;
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction and general health and safety management systems (i.e. ISO 45001:2018);
* Excellent computer literacy and IT skills;
* High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
