Planning Manager – Transmission & Distribution Construction
Role Summary
An experienced Planning Manager is required to oversee planning and scheduling activities across a portfolio of five concurrent Transmission & Distribution (T&D) construction projects. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining project programmes, monitoring progress, managing risks and opportunities, and providing accurate reporting to support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
Manage planning activities across multiple live projects, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and delivery objectives.
Track project performance against baseline programmes and identify schedule risks and delays.
Produce regular progress reports, forecasts, and critical path analyses for senior stakeholders.
Support risk management, recovery planning, and change control processes.
Collaborate with project, engineering, commercial, procurement, and construction teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
Lead planning reviews and coordinate stakeholder meetings.
Provide portfolio-level planning and resource forecasting.
Support continuous improvement of planning processes and mentor project planning personnel.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Significant experience in project planning within construction, utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
Proven experience managing planning activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong Primavera P6 skills and understanding of project controls principles.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience within Transmission & Distribution, power, utilities, or major infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract frameworks.
Experience with project performance reporting and earned value management.
