We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Galway. As a key member of our Renal Clinic, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of haemodialysis service.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in renal nursing, with a postgraduate diploma in the field. You will be responsible for managing patient care to ensure the highest standards are maintained using evidence-based practice and care planning approaches.
You will work autonomously in nursing practice, managing a designated patient workload and taking responsibility for monitoring and acting on monthly bloods, transplant evaluation, and follow-up.
The successful candidate will provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis, selecting and developing appropriate literature and support networks that are available.
You will also be involved in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population, attending renal transplant multi-disciplinary team meetings, and supporting a safe environment for patients, staff, and others.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will report to the Renal Unit Manager and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
This is a 12-month maternity contract leave role initially. The ideal candidate will be eligible to work in Ireland and have excellent relationship and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
* Manage patient care to ensure the highest standards are maintained using evidence-based practice and care planning approaches
* Assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of monthly bloods, transplant work up, and follow-up
* Provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis
* Involved in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population
Requirements:
* Qualification to degree level in Nursing and registered with NMBI
* Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing
* Strong planning, organisation, and work prioritisation skills
* Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills
