Role OverviewAlbany Beck are growing our Technology Practice, with immediate deployment opportunities onsite with one of our Financial Services clients, based in Dublin. We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer (Automation-Focused) to join a collaborative Agile engineering environment within Financial Services. This role is ideal for someone with strong Java fundamentals who is interested in building a career in QA automation. Prior QA experience is not essential — candidates with solid coding ability and a genuine desire to transition into automation testing will be considered. The focus is on mindset, engagement, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Technology can be taught; attitude and ownership are key.Key ResponsibilitiesWork closely with developers to validate newly developed featuresDesign, build, and execute automated test scenariosCollaborate with engineers early in the development lifecycle to improve quality outcomesParticipate actively in: Agile ceremonies, Story refinement sessions, Feature validation and test planning discussionsSupport continuous improvement of automation frameworks and testing practicesContribute to a collaborative, quality-focused engineering cultureKey Skills and ExperienceStrong Java fundamentals (object-oriented principles essential)Demonstrated interest in QA automationExposure to automation frameworks is preferred but not mandatoryApproximately 1 year of industry experience or meaningful internship experience within a real engineering teamExposure to working in a professional development environmentEssential AttributesStrong learning mindset and eagerness to developWillingness to take ownership and get involvedComfortable working within an Agile team environmentUnderstanding of: Source control (e.g., Git), Code reviews, Collaborative team-based development practicesStrong communication skills and ability to ask questions
