Behavioural Specialist Role
This is a critical position that significantly enhances the quality of life, independence, and social integration for children in care.
The Behavioural Specialist will operate within a person-centred philosophy to provide advanced behavioural support and intervention strategies for children with intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex behavioural needs.
* Develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans (BSPs) based on thorough assessments.
* Utilise evidence-based practices to effectively manage behaviours of concern.
* Offer guidance and supervision to behavioural specialists and care staff.
* Lead training sessions on de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and proactive strategies.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* Postgraduate degree or higher in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Behavioural Science, PBS, or an equivalent field.
* Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or mental health challenges.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and report writing skills, and experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
